The Saudi leadership congratulated on Friday Abdul Latif Rashid on his election as president of Iraq.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent separate cables of congratulations to Rashid, who was sworn in on Thursday.
King Salman expressed his best wishes to Rashid, hailing the “unique fraternal ties that bind our countries and peoples.”
He hoped that the relations will be boosted in all fields.
King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed wished Rashid success in his new role and the people of Iraq further progress and prosperity, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
