Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held talks in Riyadh on Monday with US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Yael Lambert.
They reviewed the strategic and historical relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States and ways to strengthen them in all fields of cooperation and joint coordination, said a Foreign Ministry statement.
They discussed regional and international affairs, foremost of which is enhancing security and stability in the Middle East and Saudi and American efforts to establish peace in the region.
Prince Faisal and Lambert also discussed joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism in all their forms.
They tackled joint efforts to stop the violations of the terrorist Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen against the Yemeni people.
