The Saudi leadership is providing programs and initiatives that contribute to motivating investors to launch entertainment and tourism projects in the Kingdom.
In comments to Asharq Al-Awsat, Musaab Al-Muhaidib, the head of the Culture and Entertainment Committee in Riyadh’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said Saudi Arabia’s clear and great efforts have brought about a historic shift at the level of entertainment, which is currently one of the Kingdom’s most attractive sectors.
Al-Muhaidib noted that the General Entertainment Authority succeeded in creating a broad system that will host many major future projects, such as Qiddiya, which reflects the country’s interest in developing a strong infrastructure for the success of an entertainment industry that enjoys competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
He revealed that the committee has held several workshops and meetings to come up with five initiatives, which are aimed at increasing communication within the system, promoting cooperation with the relevant authorities to develop and classify facilities, and raising the attractiveness of the sector to increase investments.
“I think that the General Entertainment Authority has succeeded in creating a wide movement… The future holds a lot and promises great competitiveness regionally and internationally,” Al-Muhaidib told Asharq Al-Awsat.
The Committee for Culture and Entertainment recently organized an open meeting to discuss opportunities for recreational and cultural investments, during which the participants presented their opinions and suggestions to address the challenges facing investors.
“If we look at the major projects that are underway, we will realize Saudi Arabia’s great interest in developing a strong infrastructure for this promising sector,” Al-Muhaidib remarked, adding: “All the factors for success are available in our country for a highly-competitive entertainment industry.”
