The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, an affiliate of the Saudi government has been elected by the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) as an active member of the Academy’s Board of Trustees for three years.

This follows the Kingdom's admission to the Academy’s membership as one of the founding members of the international organization, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Tuesday.

The election is recognition of the Kingdom’s local and international efforts in protecting integrity and fighting corruption. It also reflects its constructive cooperation with relevant regional and international bodies and organizations, including the Riyadh Initiative (GlobE), which was announced during Saudi Arabia’s presidency of the G20 in 2020, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

Director-General for Enhancing Integrity, and Supervising the Integrity Center for Training at the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, Dr. Shakir bin Ahmed Al-Saleh is set to represent the Kingdom at the IACA's Board of Trustees.
