Saturn is about to become the star of the night sky. The ringed planet reaches opposition on Sunday, Oct. 4. It will be brighter than at any other point in 2026. It will also stay visible through the night, as per a report by Forbes magazine. For anyone with access to a telescope, the timing gets even better.
The famous Saturn Rings are opening up again after appearing almost edge-on in 2025. Astronomy magazine says the rings will be tilted about 7.5 degrees toward our line of sight around opposition.
