Saturday Night Takeaway viewers question whether Ant and Dec's new door bell segment was 'staged'

Ant & Dec's new Saturday Night Takeaway segment 'Ring My Door Bell' has received a mix reaction, with some praising the fast-paced action and others questioning whether the game was 'staged'.

The high-energy game went live to the homes of audience members via their doorbell cameras, and asked neighbours to race in under 45 seconds to 'ring my bell' for a £500 cash prize.

A lot of viewers questioned whether the segment was staged as they wondered how people got to the homes so fast.

Taking to Twitter, one user said: "Doorbell rang and she was already stood up? People at her house a few seconds later with two babies? Seems a bit suspicious to me," referring to a couple who quickly showed up with their babies.

And during another round, a man had arrived outside the door before the countdown had even begun, causing another viewer to write: "SaturdayNightTakeaway mhm I feel like this segment is staged lmao."

Another social media user noticed how a confetti cannon went off at the 'random' houses.

"It is fixed though as they’ve got confetti installed at their door," they said with a laughing emoji.

One viewer added: "That’s so fixed !" while one posted: "Each house had a person with a party popper and a video link outside it."

Although some were skeptical of the new content, most were enjoying fun and frantic nature of it.

Fans of the show took to social media to beg ITV for Ring My Doorbell to become a regular segment on the programme.

"Ring my door bell, pure genius!!!" said one viewer.

"They should make it a seperate show" said another.

Another exclaimed: "Ring my bell needs to be on every SNT episode now, that was hilarious."

Others viewers took to social media to talk about their canine friends responded to the new segment.

One dog owner said: "I loved the ring my bell segment. But I hate you because my dogs been non stop barking for the last fifteen minutes."

Another asked: ""So who else’s dog went mental at all the ring doorbells on @antanddec Saturday Night Takeaway?"

During the show, Ant and Dec were also joined in the studio by the international music artist Adam Lambert as Star Guest Announcer.

And the cast of Mary Poppins took to the stage for the West End Spectacular End Of The Show Show.
