Saturday Night Takeaway fans 'in bits' at Ant and Dec's leather transformation

Saturday Night Takeaway viewers were left "in bits" at Ant and Dec's transformation tonight.

The Geordie duo surprised fans at home as they morphed into rock stars as they brought the show to a close.

The hosts switched up their outfits from smart suits to an all-leather look, reappearing on the stage looking like they were part of a band.

Ant and Dec were compared to the likes of interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and comedians Russell Brand and Ross Noble as they emerged looking totally unrecognisable.

Fans were left gobsmacked at their makeovers - taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Wow genuinely thought that was Laurence Llewelyn Bowen for a second! Ant in his leather dancing gear! #SaturdayNightTakeaway @antanddec."

Another joked: "Wonderful seeing Ross Noble and Russel Brand together."

A third commented: " #SaturdayNightTakeaway I see that Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen is back on Prime time TV...."

And another questioned: "Why are Ant and Dec dressed as Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen #SaturdayNightTakeaway @ITV ".

Someone else even suggested the stars should adopt their new looks going forward.

Their incredible transformations come after the stars transformed into drag in a recent episode.

The hosts took part in a RuPaul's Drag Race special 'end of the show show', as RuPaul introduced three winners of the show for a performance.

Viewers of the family show revealed how the presenters' transformations "blew their mind".

They became The Ladies of the North, with Ant as Lady Antoinette and and Dec as Miss Donna Lee.

Singing about being the 'angels of the North', they joined Drag Race UK stars The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney and Krystal Versace for an epic musical number.

During and after the moment, viewers raced to Twitter to share their reactions - and the hosts certainly won over fans with their new looks.

Saturday Night Takeaway returned in February with some big changes from the last series.

The live audience was welcomed back with open arms, after the boys had to ditch the crowd last year for social distancing, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Ant and Dec were visibly taken aback, as the crowd roared for them as they sped down to the stage.

As they cheered the return of the hosts and their hit ITV show, Ant was quick to say how thankful he was to have real people back in the studio.

There hasn't been a live audience for a full series since 2018, with the ITV show off air in 2019 and then having to ditch in-studio viewers for the following two years due to social distancing.

Part of the 2020 series was with an audience, before the hosts had to host the final episodes from their homes.
