Saturday Night Live UK is here. Here’s what we know

  • The first-ever UK edition of 'Saturday Night Live' is scheduled to premiere this Saturday at 10pm on Sky and NOW, marking its arrival 50 years after the original US show.
  • US SNL veteran Tina Fey will be the inaugural celebrity guest host, with Jamie Dornan and Riz Ahmed also confirmed to present episodes during the eight-episode series.
  • Cast members Hammed Animashaun and Bella Hull spoke of the intense pressure and nerves, alongside excitement, regarding the live nature of the show.
  • Hull acknowledged the criticism from online detractors but emphasised the cast's dedication to making the show as humorous as possible, embracing the ”magical chaos” of live production.
  • The writing team, led by Jonno Johnson, features a diverse group of comedians and writers, including Hull's former Cambridge Footlights partner Ania Magliano, who will host the 'Weekend Update' segment.
