'Explosion' at house in Larbert as several fire crews and police race to scene

Emergency services are currently at the scene of an explosion in Larbert (Daily Record)

A major emergency services operation is underway after reports of an ‘explosion’ at a house near Falkirk.

Fire crews, police and paramedics have been called to the scene on Broomage Crescent in Larbert after the alarm was raised at 1.40pm on Saturday.

At least seven fire appliances are currently in attendance with a further five - including specialist resources - on the way.

Scots Postcode Lottery tragedy as dad dies after suffering broken neck leaving heartbroken daughter to collect win

A heartbroken Scots daughter is to collect her dad's share of the £7.9m Postcode Lottery jackpot today after he tragically died before finding out about his win.

Andrew Gillon tragically passed away during surgery at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glasgow on January 7.

The 59-year-old had fallen down the stairs and broke his neck at a friend's house on New Years Day.

Vladimir Putin 'plots to dominate Europe' with chilling warning to Finland and Sweden

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has warned neighbours Sweden and Finland there will be "military and political consequences’" if they joined NATO.

Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, warned there will be "serious repercussions" for the two countries if they joined the military alliance.

The chilling threat over crossing Putin was issued as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine intensifies.

Both Scandinavian nations share a border with Russia.

Children of missing Scots mum 'extremely upset' and want her home as police search continues

The children of a woman who vanished a week ago are “extremely upset” and want her back home, police officers have said.

Karen Stevenson, 42, left her home in Lairds Hill, Seafar, Cumbernauld , North Lanarkshire, some time after midnight on Saturday, February 19.

The mum-of-two walked towards the town centre and was seen in a lift at the shopping centre around 2.44am.

She then walked towards Muirfield Community Centre, near Brown Road and Fleming Road, and was there at around 2.55am.

Karen hasn’t been in touch since then, with police becoming "increasingly concerned" for her welfare.

A young Scots girl battling cancer said her 'dreams came true' when Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña agreed to 'marry her' in an adorable video call.

Rebecca Christine Hopkins, known as Bex, was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in October 2020.

Since her shock diagnosis, Bex from Girvan has endured numerous rounds of intense chemotherapy and continues to receive oral chemo daily.

One thing that helped the 10-year-old get through her treatment was Cobra Kai on Netflix.
