Sarah Jessica Parker wants everyone to know she's nothing like Carrie Bradshaw.
The 61-year-old actress has played the fictional fashionista for almost three decades across Sex and the City and its spin-off And Just Like That, but she doesn't want people to mistake her for the iconic character.
Speaking to British Vogue magazine for a new Q+A, she was asked for the most common misconception about herself, and bluntly answered: "That I'm Carrie."
Sarah grew up around New York City, where Sex and the City is set, and she admitted she has picked up one particular habit over the years.
Revealing the "most NY thing" about herself, she quipped: "I will scream 'Taxi!' day or night. I am the person who gets everyone’s taxi.
"I’ve been teaching my daughters how to get one and they’re like, 'We can’t scream like that.' You have to!"
Sarah has son James, 23, and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha, 17, with her husband Matthew Broderick.
She described her family as her "biggest achievement".
She added: "My three children are good kids. We are happiest when we know we can be together, but sometimes I’m like, 'I wish you’d given me that laundry sooner!' "
Sarah previously admitted she would have worn whatever the Sex and the City costume designers wanted her to.
She first played Carrie on the show for six seasons between 1998 and 2004, and her on-screen alter ego famous for the unique, often eccentric, ensembles she put together.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine earlier this year, Sarah said that when it came to working with lead costume designer Patricia Field and designer Molly Rogers ahead of shooting, there were no boundaries.
Speaking about the fittings, she said: “It would be 2 or 3 or 4am, and we had just finished shooting, and I was in a fitting and they would have some of the most insane stuff.
“There are Polaroids. There is documentation of these things. I would put anything on for them, because you never know.”
Sarah recalled "ridiculous" late night, early morning fittings.
She laughed: “It was so much fun, and none of us had kids, none of us had to run home for any reason."
She insisted: “I will absolutely put anything on for Molly Rogers.”
