Sarah Everard vigil organiser says ‘much more’ needs doing for women to be safe

The organiser of a vigil held to mark five years since the murder of Sarah Everard said “much more needs to be done” for women to feel safe and to tackle violence against women and girls.

Ms Everard, a 33-year-old marketing executive, was abducted, raped and murdered by a serving Metropolitan Police officer as she walked home from a friend’s house in south London on March 3 2021.
