Santos Laguna's top scorer, Harold Preciado, has been provisionally suspended by Mexico's Anti-Doping Committee for alleged doping. The 29-year-old Colombian striker is under investigation following a test conducted in January 2024. Preciado, who has netted four goals in six league matches during the Liga MX Clausura, was the leading goal-scorer in the Liga MX Apertura 2023 with 11 goals.
The club confirmed the mandatory provisional suspension, barring Preciado from all sporting activities. Santos Laguna stated that Preciado has a five-day window to request a reanalysis of the test as per the anti-doping protocols.
Preciado's last appearance was in Santos Laguna's recent 1-0 victory over Querétaro, where he scored the winning goal. The former Deportivo Cali player's suspension has raised concerns about his future participation in the league.
