Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California, has made the decision to cancel all horse racing events scheduled for this weekend due to the wildfires that have been raging on the west side of Los Angeles. The park emphasized that while the air quality standards at the racetrack are currently within the limits set by the CHRB and HISA, the growing impact of the fires in Los Angeles County necessitated this precautionary measure.
Despite the cancellation of racing events, training sessions will proceed as planned on both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, Santa Anita Park will remain open for simulcast wagering activities. The park has assured stakeholders that information regarding rescheduling will be communicated following discussions with all relevant parties.
