The next Galaxy Unpacked event is rumored to be happening in less than a month, and should see the unveiling of Samsung's next wave of foldable phones: Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8. We've already seen a bunch of leaks showing off the three phones, but this extensive leak from Android Headlines gives us our best look yet.
The site has just published a bunch of official looking renders that seem to feature all three of the upcoming phones in a range of official cases including the new wide Galaxy Z Fold 8. It's good to have a more official look at these unreleased phones, even if there aren't really any surprises to be found.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is the sequel to the Z Fold 7, has been seen in a bunch of colored cases including a carbon fiber-looking design, one with a kickstand and another with a magnetic ring.
That ring suggests that wireless charging isn't going anywhere, but it's too early to tell whether this is the only magnetic connection the Z Fold 8 Ultra will offer (like the Galaxy S26 series).
The idea of full Qi2 magnetic charging coming to the Z Fold 8 Ultra isn't impossible, but I personally don't believe Samsung will make that change on a foldable of all things — especially given it will be slimmer and lighter than its predecessor.
Galaxy Z Fold 8
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 (formerly known as Galaxy Z Fold Wide) renders paint a similar story. There's a familiar carbon fiber-inspired design complete with a kickstand, and a variety of designs featuring cute characters — including Pingu.
Some of these cases also have magnetic rings, suggesting that Qi2 support will be available on the wider foldable as well. But, presumably, without magnets embedded inside the phone itself.
Galaxy Z Flip 8
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 looks much the same as the Z Flip 7, judging from these case renders. Which we were expecting, considering how little attention Samsung seems to pay to its flip foldables each year. These cases also come in a variety of designs, some of which feature cute characters and another appearance of Pingu.
None of that is surprising, though, since Samsung does tend to offer a variety of colorful and striking case designs on Z Flip phones. There's a magnetic ring on at least one of these cases, while others offer a built-in ring grip. Presumably a kickstand is too big to fit considering the Z Flip's cover display takes up more than half the phone.
There isn't a lot of new information to be seen here, but the fact that official-looking accessory renders have leaked shows that the Z Fold 8 launch event is coming up quickly. July 22 is the date that's been rumored, and the closer we get to that date, the more we're likely to hear about the three phones. In the meantime be sure to check out our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 hubs for all the latest news and rumors.
