Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in India as part of its latest foldable smartphone lineup, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8 and new Galaxy Watch models. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at Rs 1,79,999 and brings a lighter design, upgraded display, AI features, improved cameras and enhanced performance.
The smartphone will be available in three storage variants, with sales starting from August 7. It comes in Lavender, Graphite and Cream colour options, while Pistachio is available as an online-exclusive colour.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 gets larger foldable display and lighter design
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The foldable phone also includes a 5.5-inch cover display, allowing users to access apps and notifications without unfolding the device.
Samsung has made the Galaxy Z Fold 8 its lightest Fold smartphone, weighing 201 grams. When unfolded, the device measures 4.5mm in thickness, offering a slimmer design compared with earlier models.
Both displays support Vision Booster technology for improved visibility in different lighting conditions.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 performance and AI features
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset and comes with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.
The device runs Android 17 with Samsung’s One UI 9 interface and includes Galaxy AI features designed to improve productivity and user experience on the foldable display.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 camera features
The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup featuring:
- 50MP wide-angle camera with optical image stabilisation
- 50MP ultra-wide camera
- 10MP selfie camera
Samsung has added features such as Dual Recording and auto-tracking selfies through My FanCam to enhance video and photography capabilities.
Battery and charging features
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 packs a 4,800mAh dual battery and supports 45W wired charging. Samsung claims the device can charge up to 63% in around 30 minutes using a compatible charger.
The smartphone also supports 20W fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 durability and connectivity
The foldable smartphone carries an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance. It supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.
