MEERUT: PM Narendra Modi lashed out at the Samajwadi Party in his first virtual rally for poll-bound UP on Monday, addressing 21 constituencies in the western part of the state that vote in the initial phase on February 10, and said that the SP has been promoting “nakli samajwad (fake socialism)".
Lauding the BJP in the state for being a “government of the poor”, the PM accused the opposition of “crying for revenge when BJP wanted to bring in development”. Modi was referring to comments made by SP candidate Adil Chaudhary in Meerut on Thursday, when the latter had said, “We will take revenge against their oppression...so they think 100 times before doing anything again.” Chaudhary later clarified that he had been “misquoted”.
