Welsh rugby icon and fitness beast Sam Warburton has been filmed performing an incredible feat of strength on the bench press this week.
Warburton is renowned for his insane fitness regime, which is complemented by his equally insane physique. This takes it to another level however.
For those of us who frequent the gym, you know how hard it can be to shift the weight at times. To see this many kilograms on the bar above Warburton really is awe-inspiring.
The video is simply entitled 'What weight are we saying?' - cue a big discussion in the comments section! From 140kg to 200kg, there are an abundance of guesses.
It has been confirmed by SW7 Academy that it was a whopping 157.5kg. That's 24st 11lbs.
Where does the former Wales skipper rank in the all-time records set by rugby players? Well, he's got a fair way to go yet. The record is held by Ospreys player Gheorghe Gajion, who pushed an astounding 230kg, 10kg clear of second place.
For reference, 230kg is about half the weight of a horse.
Warburton is in good company with that lift. Sam Whitelock and Pete Samu set their personal best at 160kg, according to RugbyPass, just three kilograms more .
Speaking on Stompcast recently, Warburton reminded fans that despite retiring, he still keeps himself occupied on the fitness side of things. Those of us who follow the former Lions captain on social media will be very familiar with this.
"I still train like crazy," he said. "From the age of 14 or 15 you are trying to chase perfection and athletic development and then you suddenly finish. I still want to train and be strong. If I just wilt away I feel like I'm just giving up. I want to be able to live a long, healthy life."
