Sam Smith 's Grammys performance has been compared to "devil worship" in complaints to FCC.
The singer performed their song Unholy alongside Kim Petras but the pair have since been met with multiple complaints.
TMZ reported that they have obtained 18 complaints filed with the Federal Communications Commission following the event.
Some complaints compared the performance to devil worship, with one person saying they were going to cancel their TV service.
Some said it was anti-Christian and had the potential to "increase violence against Christians".
One complaint said: "It was wrought with evil imagery, and depicted DEVIL WORSHIPING ACOLYTES writhing around on the floor virtually naked, and in CAGES. It was broadcast on live television, and I cannot believe that CBS allowed it."
As another said: "The performance of Sam Smith had people being whipped and in a cage. My 15 year old son who is an aspiring musician was traumatized by it."
Some politicians shared their opinions on Twitter, with Ted Crus saying: "This...is...evil."
While Marjorie Taylor Greene said: "The Grammy's featured Sam Smith's demonic performance and was sponsored by Pfizer.
"And the Satanic Church now has an abortion clinic in NM that requires its patients to perform a satanic ritual before its services. American Christians need to get to work."
The complaints come as Sam opened up about body image struggles.
During an appearance on Jameela Jamil's I Weigh podcast this year, Sam described their thoughts around their weight as "the basis of all my sadness."
Sam said: "Literally everything I’ve ever been sad about is my weight. I struggle with it every day."
The chart-topping singer revealed they underwent liposuction at 12-years-old after being bullied at school.
Sam said they were teased for "holding a lot of weight in my chest" and during one incident had their "breasts grabbed at" by a boy in the playground.
Smith said: "At the time, I think I was very happy about it. [The surgery] didn’t really change anything. I think I put the weight back on in two weeks because I haven’t figured out my relationship with food, so it didn’t really change anything.
"But being 12 years old and having liposuction on your chest is quite a big deal."
