Sam Smith has released a statement apologising to fans after cancelling last night's concert mid-show.
The Unholy singer, who teased a collaboration with Madonna, performed just three songs at the AO Arena in Manchester.
A powercut then reportedly suddenly plunged the venue into darkness and confused fans were told to return to the foyer.

Sam, 30, later took to social media to explain that something was "really wrong" with their voice, Mirror UK reports.
They said: "I don't know what to say honestly. I fought off a virus a few weeks ago and since then we have travelled across Europe and had such incredible shows. Today in soundcheck I felt fine and was so excited to give Manchester an amazing show tonight, with a special surprise guest at the end.
"During my third song, I noticed something wrong with my voice. I prayed it was just my voice waking up for the show but into the fourth song I could feel something was really wrong.
"I came off stage and have tried everything to get my voice back in gear but it won't. I am honestly heartbroken I couldn't finish the show tonight for you all. I love you all. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry".
At the time, fans took to social media to share their confusion.
One shocked fan questioned: "Sam Smith at AO Arena, Manchester has been PAUSED!! What is going on?"
Another tweeted: "Sam Smith at Manchester. Show paused. Announcement to return to foyers or restrooms."
Some fans said Sam had an issue with their voice.
A person said: "Sam Smith had a surprise for us tonight. It was meant to be Madonna!!! However after 3-4 songs the show got cancelled due to voice problems. If it is or isn’t, I just hope they are ok and come back to Manchester soon."
Another asked : "Does anyone know what actually happened at sam smith tonight? i was there and im still not certain what’s actually gone on."
Mirror UK have contacted Sam's representatives for comment.
The sudden cancellation comes after they previously rescheduled their Birmingham and Glasgow shows in April due to a mystery illness.
At the time, a statement said: "Sailors, I am so sorry to let you know that my team and I are still really not well, so unfortunately we need to reschedule out Birmingham show to the 27th of May 2023.
"It's so important to me that we give you the very best version of Gloria. I don't want you to experience it at anything less."
Sam's rescheduled performance in Glasgow tonight is still scheduled to go ahead.
They performed in Dublin's 3Arena on April 14 and 15 this year.
