Knee soreness has meant Sam Kerr's return from an ACL tear has been a slow and steady build, but it would be the "icing on the cake" if the star striker could lead the Matildas to Asian Cup glory on home soil.

Kerr will be the face of the Women's Asian Cup when it kicks off on March 1 in Perth with a clash between the Matildas and the Philippines at Optus Stadium.
