Sam Heughan says 'childhood dream came true' as he jumps on police motorbike in Edinburgh

Outlander's Sam Heughan admitted it was 'a dream come true' as he jumped onto a police motorbike during his latest outing in Edinburgh.

Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser in the hit Starz time travelling drama, was taking part in the Gentleman's Ride in Scotland's capital city.

He looked dashing as he wore a tweed jacket, waistcoat and polka dot bowtie while he jumped on the Police Scotland bike.

Gentleman's Ride helps to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research and men's mental health and the event saw smartly dressed 'gentlemen' in Scotland revving up their engines to take part.

Thousands of others were also taking part in cities all over the UK which also helps official charity partner Movember, which has raised around £4 million this year.

Sam, who was filmed on the police bike, told fans on video : "It's a childhood dream of mine."

He also wrote in a post: "Thanks to Police Scotland for keeping us safe on the Gentleman's Ride, a great day out! ( and for allowing me to be a total big kid)."

Fans loved Sam on his police vehicle with some suggesting they wouldn't mind being pulled over by Officer Heughan.

On even added: "I would insist on handcuffs immediately!!!"
