Sam Heughan has revealed that despite his close friendship with Priyanka Chopra, he never revealed to her the secret ending of Outlander.
The Balmaclellan-born actor, 43, is working with Priyanka, 40, on their new rom-com Love Again which will hit cinemas later this week. The film will see the Jamie Fraser actor portray journalist Rob Burns, who begins receiving unexpected romantic text messages from an unknown number.
Priyanka plays grieving Mira Ray, who still sends a flurry of devoted text messages to her ex-fiancé's phone number - which unbeknownst to her, has been reassigned to Rob. When Rob is tasked with interviewing Celine Dion for an article, the singer, who plays a fictionalised version of herself in the movie, helps Rob on his mission to meet Mira and find love.
The production mostly took place during the Covid lockdown in 2020, meaning the cast and crew abided by the strict rules and formed close bonds on set. Despite working closely with Priyanka during this time, Sam admits that he never spilled any Outlander ending secrets to his co-star.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Priyanka admitted that she didn't pry too much about the series. She said: "We definitely get on really well.
"But I have been on enough secret shows to know I can't ask some questions!"
"Right! We spent a lot of time together," added Sam. "And I think we were very lucky because we were shooting during a pandemic and we were in our own bubble.
"It meant that we got to spend time together, not only us but the rest of our cast, and we just got on like this little small family, COVID family."
This comes after Sam admitted he is one of the only people who knows how the Outlander series will end. Speaking to Esquire UK, he said: "Diana Gabaldon [the writer-creator] actually revealed to me how the whole thing’s going to end.
"She emailed me the last few pages of what will be the last book very early on, I think in the first few weeks of shooting and no one else has seen that I think, apart from one other exec producer. Even Caitríona’s not seen it and I’m sworn to secrecy."
