Sam Heughan flaunts 'new accent' in first-look trailer for Channel 4 drama Suspect

Scottish actor Sam Heughan has shown off a new English accent in the exclusive, first-look trailer for new Channel 4 drama, Suspect.

Sam plays the godfather of the murdered Christina, as dad Danny (James Nesbitt) heads on a journey to discover the true killer behind his daughter's death.

And he shared an exclusive clip of the show, airing on Channel 4 in 2022, captioning the post on Instagram with: "#SUSPECT is coming soon to @Channel4!

"Starring James Nesbitt, Richard E Grant, Ben Miller, Sam Heughan, Antonia Thomas, Joely Richardson, Anne-Marie Duff, Niamh Algar, Sacha Dawan and Imogen King."

Fans have flocked to the comments to share their excitement on the new show beginning, with one Instagram user writing: "Can’t wait for this. looks sick."

Another said: "Looks so good! Can't wait to see you in this Sam!!"

And a third wrote: "I am really excited!"

Another added: "I would like to see it. I wish it to be a great success."

A fifth said: "Can't wait!"

The show is an adaptation of Christoffer Boe’s hit Danish series “Forhøret.” Each episode will focus on Danny's interaction with another character as he learns about his daughter’s descent into delinquency and her last days on Earth.

After it was announced that Sam would be part of this star-studded cast, he tweeted: "What a cast! And brilliant creative team. So excited. Having a blast shooting this with the excellent @driesvos (though I don't understand a word he says)."

Coming soon to Channel 4, Suspect is an eight part drama series that will be sure to have everyone suspecting the worst!
