Sam Fender shares plan to turn life story into a movie three years after cracking charts

Sam Fender may have only been on the music scene for a couple of years but already he thinks he’s made a big enough name for himself that there should be a big screen biopic about his life.

Movies about music stars have become big business in recent years – with Bohemian Rhapsody chronicling the life of Freddie Mercury and Queen, Rocket Man telling the story of Sir Elton John, and Elvis taking inspiration from the life of Elvis Presley.

While movies about Madonna, Bob Dylan, The Bee Gees and Marianne Faithfull all in the world.

For 28-year-old Seventeen Going Under singer Sam, there should be another name on the list of upcoming biopics – his own.

He told The Sun he has already planned the perfect casting, explaining: “I’d want that kid who stars in American Horror Story, Evan Peters. That’s who I would want to play me, but I’m not that cool or sexy.

"I’d want him playing me because he’s got that kind of dead look behind his eyes that I’ve got . . .

“In reality they’d probably get Michael Cera.”

Sam was born and raised in North Shields and became involved with music before he was a teenager as he learned guitar, and began song writing when he was 14.

His first single, Play God, was released back in 2017 but only reached 89 in the charts.

And it wasn’t until 2021, with the release of Seventeen Going Under, that he made an impact on the singles chart as he reached number three.

Sam had better luck on the albums charts, with his debut album, Hypersonic Missiles, hotting the top spot upon release in 2019.

While his follow up album also reached number one in 2021.

Away from music, Sam’s romantic life has generated a number of headlines as he has been linked to a string of high profile women.

Back in February he sparked speculation that he had grown close to fellow singer Raye as they were spotted partying together following The Brit Awards.

He was subsequently linked to model and OnlyFans star Lottie Moss - the younger sister of catwalk legend Kate - with he pair flirting up a storm via social media.

Sam and Lottie were also spotted together at the NME Awards the following month.

However, that alleged romance didn’t seem to last long either, as a month later, he was linked to Anatomy of a Scandal actress Hannah Dodd.

A source said at the time: “Sam thinks Hannah is absolutely stunning and has been liking her pictures like crazy, which is of course very flattering for her.

“She has also followed him back and they are getting on very well. It’s a case of watch this space.”
