Sam Fender gets offer of free pies from Alnwick company as he arrives at Newcastle's Utilita Arena

Sam Fender has had a very tempting offer from some fans as he arrives back in Newcastle to take over the Utilita Arena for two consecutive nights,.

It's already been one hell of a year for North Shields singer Sam, with a win at the Brit Awards for Best Rock/Alternative Act, as well as getting to perform in front of thousands at the O2 Arena ceremony. That was swiftly followed by a double win for his second number 1 record Seventeen Going Under at the NME Awards, for Best Album By a UK Artist and Best Album in the World.

And, over the last few weeks, Sam and his band have been playing to packed houses across the UK and Ireland, including London's Wembley Arena, as they took to the tour of the same name to a host of well known venues. This week brings the gigs they've all been waiting for when the tour arrives at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle.

There's not a spare ticket to be had as the lads take over the arena on Tuesday and Wednesday night, with Sam's setlist set to include hits like Will We Talk, Play God, Spit of You and Hypersonic Missiles.

When ChronicleLive posted a teaser for Sam's gigs on Facebook, we got a comment from the guys from Turnbull's Northumbrian Food in Alnwick, who are going to Wednesday's show and had an offer for Sam. They told us: "Going tomorrow but trying to get Sam Fender some of our pies."

The team from Turnbull's messaged Sam on Instagram to say: "Areet marra? We're coming to the show on Wednesday? Do you want us to bring some belta pies for you and the lads. Steak & Ale, Chicken & Leek, pork pies. Let us know gadge."

At the time of writing, Sam hadn't replied and he is no stranger to an offer of free food, with Greggs supplying the food for his and the band's Brits celebrations on a party bus through London. Turnbull's posted the message on their Instagram grid, to which one of their customers replied: "I reckon he is a Mince pie Lad with a cheeky sausage roll the side!!"
