Sam Bennett has won the second stage of the Vuelta a Espana on Saturday afternoon as the Carrick-on-Suir man impressed.
Bennett was full value for his win after he held off a sprint finish with an emphatic performance.
And the 31-year-old held off the challenge of Mads Pedersen and Tim Merlier on Saturday to earn the historic stage victory.

In a crowded field, Bennett held his nerve in the final sprint to cross the line first.
And a raised fist showed how much it meant to Bennett as he took stage victory.
And the victory means another stage victory in Bennett's incredible career.
The Irish cyclist already has stage victories in the Vuelta as well as the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France.
