Sam Allardyce is set to become Leeds' new manager and the former England boss will pocket a mammoth bonus if he is able to keep them in the Premier League.
Leeds currently sit 17th and are only outside the bottom three by virtue of having a better goal difference than Nottingham Forest. However, they have failed to win any of their last six games and have conceded four or more goals in four of them.
As a result, Leeds are set to part ways with Javi Gracia, who replaced Jesse Marsch in February and picked up three wins in 11 games. Allardyce is expected to be named as Gracia's replacement, with the 68-year-old stepping back into management for the first time since he was relegated with West Brom in 2021.
And according to the Daily Star, he has been offered a huge bonus of £1m if he is able to keep Leeds up. They have just four games left to play this season, starting with a trip to top of the table Manchester City on Saturday.
That is followed by a home game against third-placed Newcastle, before clashes against West Ham and Tottenham. Director of football Victor Orta has also left the club by mutual consent after six years at Elland Road.
"I am deeply saddened by the way that this chapter closes as Victor has been responsible for some of the best moments of my time as owner of Leeds United and I thank him and his people for all they have done in the past six years," owner Andrea Radrizzani said.
"However, it is clear that it is time to change direction and therefore we have agreed that Victor will leave the club. I understand supporters are hurt and upset, but now is a time for unity.
"We have four cup finals left to play this season and working together, I believe we can survive." Orta joined Leeds from Middlesbrough in 2017 and helped the club earn promotion back to the Premier League in 2020.
However, he was axed following an apparent disagreement with Radrizanni over the managerial situation. Orta was said to be in favour of keeping Gracia in charge until the end of the season, while Radrizanni and Leeds' managing director Angus Kinnear wanted to replace him with Allardyce.
