Thirteen more people have been confirmed ill in a Salmonella Newport outbreak that federal investigators still cannot trace to a specific food, bringing the total to 97.
The FDA's outbreak investigation table now lists the cluster, tracked as reference number 1403, at 97 illnesses, up from 84. The product column still reads that no source has been identified. Traceback is underway, and the agency is not saying which food it is tracing.
