- The eggs were distributed to catering businesses, smaller independent retailers, and convenience stores, rather than major supermarket chains.
- Consumers and businesses are advised not to eat or serve the eggs, and to dispose of or recall affected stock immediately.
- The UK Health Security Agency detected Salmonella Enteritidis in samples, which can cause fever, diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, and potentially serious illness.
