In a shocking turn of events, former Booker Prize-winning author Salman Rushdie was attacked on stage at the Chautauqua Institution in New York on August 12, 2022. The author was at the venue to give a lecture.
The 75-year-old is currently on a ventilator and reports suggest he may lose an eye. Rushdie's agent Andrew Wylie has said, "Salman will likely lose one eye; the nerves in his arm were severed; and his liver was stabbed and damaged."
