The transfer window is open and it's set to be a busy summer for Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta has already confirmed that he is expecting additions in order to help his side bridge the gap to the Champions League places next season. "We want to take the club to the next level," the Spaniard said in his press conference ahead of the final game of the season against Everton. "That's the ambition. In order to do that we have a very clear plan again, how we want to do it and execute it, and there are no secrets. We need resources and we need to increase the quality and the depth of the squad."
With that in mind the Gunners have been heavily linked to a host of strikers. football.london understands that Gabriel Jesus is the main target, while Tammy Abraham and Gianluca Scamacca are also targets. Eddie Nketiah meanwhile is in ongoing contract talks with the club over an extension, meaning that as things stand it appears Arsenal will be in the market for just one centre forward.

One player who definitely won't be coming though is Dusan Vlahovic. Arsenal tried to get him in the January transfer window but the Serbian ultimately ended up choosing Juventus and has admitted he had no interest in joining the Gunners in an interview. Given that Arsenal missed out on the top four by the finest of margins though, it's hard not to wonder what might have been.
Midfield is also an area that Edu is targeting this summer despite the fact that Mohamed Elneny has been tied down to a new contract. football.london understands that meetings have been held with Youri Tielemans representatives, but there are other targets who are being considered if a move for the Belgian doesn't work out. Yves Bissouma has publicly indicated a desire to come to the Emirates on his social media, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles appears to be on his way out amid interest from Nottingham Forest that football.london reported on over the weekend.
His fellow youngster William Saliba appears to be staying in North London though after publicly stating that he will return this summer after his loan spell at Marseille. The Frenchman has just two years left on his contract though which means there could still be some uncertainty over his future.
There is also plenty of activity going on at academy level where under-23s manager Kevin Betsy left this month to join Crawley as their first team manager, taking under-18s coach Dan Micciche with him to be his assistant. This leaves Per Mertesacker with a crucial decision to make, with several exciting young prospects in line to make their way up through the ranks next season.
