It was nearly the season of all seasons for this young Arsenal side, but unfortunately it wasn't to be.
Despite that, given the circumstances surrounding the end of last season, this campaign can surely be seen as a success. A 2nd place finish and Champions League football next year would've seemed a dream scenario last August and that's exactly what Arsenal have achieved.
The Gunners are the only club with four players to net over 10 goals in the Premier League this season, and have thus far scored 10 more goals than the famous Invincibles did in 2003/04. Some fabulous attacking football has been coupled with superb individual displays and the team has come on leaps and bounds compared to the side that narrowly missed out on the Champions League last term.
It was a tough choice to narrow down the top performers to just four, but football.london's resident Arsenal expert Kaya Kaynak took on the unenviable task and you can have your say by voting for the best of the four below.
Martin Odegaard: The Norwegian has well and truly stepped up to the role of captain this season. As well as leading from the front with his incredible pressing and off-the-ball work, he has added a goalscoring element to his game that has made him the most prolific midfielder in the Premier League
Bukayo Saka: Another stellar season for the 21-year-old who is not just one of the best young players in the league, but one of the best full stop. He has been irresistible at times down the right wing and has been crucial in Arsenal’s unexpected title push.
Granit Xhaka: Everybody loves a good comeback and there aren’t too many better than Granit Xhaka at Arsenal. The Swiss international has been reinvented as a box-to-box midfielder who has been as effective in the final third as he has in the defensive one.
Aaron Ramsdale: Ramsdale has built on a promising first season at Arsenal to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. At times he has single-handedly kept Arsenal in the title race with his saves, while his distribution continues to be marvellous.
