New Orleans is signing former Jacksonville offensive lineman Chandler Brewer, according to his agency.
The Jaguars released Brewer from their injured reserve on July 16. He was placed on the reserve in June after suffering an undisclosed injury in mandatory minicamp.
Brewer signed with the Jaguars last April and spent most of the 2023 season on Jacksonville’s practice squad. He appeared in one game amid a late-season elevation to the active roster, against Cleveland in Week 14.
After going undrafted out of Middle Tennessee in 2019, Brewer signed with Los Angeles and spent the 2019-22 seasons bouncing between the Rams’ practice squad and active roster, appearing in 13 games.
Brewer opted out of the 2020 season amid the COVID-19 pandemic after battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in college.
Jacksonville entered its 2024 training camp with 15 offensive linemen on its 92-player roster: Tackles Cam Robinson, Anton Harrison, Walker Little, Javon Foster and Blake Hance; and interior linemen Ezra Cleveland, Mitch Morse, Brandon Scherff, Tyler Shatley, Luke Fortner, Cooper Hodges, Cole Van Lanen, Keaton Sutherland, Darryl Williams and Steven Jones.
