The New Orleans Saints experienced an injury scare at their recent joint practice session with the Los Angeles Chargers, but head coach Dennis Allen shared some relief in an update on Marshon Lattimore’s status. The star cornerback was spotted receiving treatment for a knee injury that held him out of the team’s second preseason game.
“No, it’s nothing significant,” Allen said. “We’re going to be smart with that. I’ll get a report in here this afternoon to see exactly where he’s at. I’m hoping to have him out here pretty quickly.”
It’s unlikely Lattimore will see many snaps in the Saints’ third and final preseason game with the Houston Texans on Sunday; he’s had maybe the best training camp of his NFL career this summer, and he doesn’t really need those reps in a meaningless exhibition game. But we’ll see which direction Allen wants to take it.
