Shoppers have hit out at supermarket giant Sainsbury's after it launched a new rule in stores, which requires customers to scan their receipt before they leave. As part of the change, shoppers now have to show proof of purchase by getting their receipt checked at new scanners at self checkout tills.
If they fail to do so, they will not be able to exit the supermarket. In wake of the store's implementation of the rule, many have taken to social media to lash out, as reported by the Mirror.
Some have described the system as an 'insult' - feeling as though Sainsbury's no longer trusts them. While people who tend to not get their receipts printed out were particularly angered.
