Sainsbury's shopper dumbfounded when she sees what's substituted instead of £1.65 box of eggs

A Sainsbury's shopper was left dumbfounded when she opened up her delivery to find a bizarre substitute for a missing box of eggs. The UK is currently experiencing an egg shortage, with shoppers having noticed shortages in supermarkets like Aldi, Tesco and Sainsbury's.

ASDA and Lidl have gone so far as to put up rationing signs in some stores, in the hope of making sure there's enough for everyone. But unfortunately, if you order eggs online and there is a shortage, you're not always able to determine what you'll get instead.

That's exactly what happened to one women after she ordered a spot of Sainsbury's shopping on the Uber Eats app. The woman, who is nameless, said she had ordered eggs from Sainsbury's via UberEats as she likes some scrambled eggs in the morning.
