Sir Sadiq Khan has warned that those reliant on the “lifeline” of personal independence payments (PIP) must not “lose out” as a result of the Government’s welfare shake-up.
In an interview with the Standard, the mayor also appeared to distance himself from Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s recent claim that there has been an “overdiagnosis” of mental illnesses in the UK, with Sir Sadiq saying he “trusts the experts” in the NHS to diagnose conditions correctly.
