Sadiq Khan convicted and fined in ‘scam’ over untaxed car

Lord Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, has been convicted and fined £340.84 in his absence over an untaxed Nissan Micra.
A spokesperson said that the vehicle does not belong to Lord Khan and “this is a scam, which is a crime”.
DVLA court letters were mistakenly addressed to a nearby building, which houses a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, instead of TfL headquarters in Stratford.
Following the Ulez expansion, protesters said that they would register untaxed vehicles under the mayor’s name.
Officials are now reviewing the prosecution, which has drawn further criticism towards the controversial Single Justice Procedure fast-track court system.
