Sadio Mane to 'apologise' in front of Bayern Munich squad as consequences for Leroy Sane 'punch' emerge

Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane is expected to apologise in front of his Bayern Munich teammates after reportedly punching Leroy Sane in the aftermath of their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday.

It was reported that the 31-year-old became involved in an on-pitch argument with the ex-City attacker leading to a ‘loud discussion’ taking place between the pair after the game.

On Thursday, he was smiling as he arrived at the Bavarian's Säbener Strasse training ground, according to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg. Chiefs at the Bundesliga champions discussed 'several' consequences yesterday, it has been claimed.

Mane's first season in Germany hasn't gone according to plan after leaving Anfield as he has come under scrutiny following his return from injury. And reports that emerged on Wednesday suggest it's continued to plateau after making a 21-minute cameo at the Etihad Stadium.

A fine, suspension and even separation from the squad have been suggested but the consequences of his actions following their Champions League first-leg loss remain to be seen. Thomas Tuchel's side will start training at 12pm GMT and the ex-Red will acknowledge his actions to the squad.

After voicing his complaints over the way the former City winger spoke to him, the pair had to be ‘separated’ after Mane is said to have landed a punch on the lip of the German. A report from BILD has stated this blow ‘left marks on Sane’s face’, adding Bayern have refused to comment on the matter.

A separate story from Sky Germany via Sky Sports has explained Sane's lip was bleeding after this altercation and that the pair took separate exits out of Munich airport upon their return home.
