Sadio Mane clarifies comments over Liverpool future in new interview
Sadio Mane insists Liverpool is a club he 'respects a lot' after he 'jokingly' made comments about what the people of Senegal want him to do about his future on Merseyside, writes Charlotte Coates .
Mane scored a hat-trick in Senegal's 3-1 win over Benin yesterday to become his country's all-time leading scorer. The Liverpool number 10's future was in doubt before the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid, as he said all would be revealed after the match. Although he is yet to directly tell the club of his wish, it is believed Mane wants to embark on a new challenge elsewhere.

Unsurprisingly, rumours suggest clubs all over Europe are circling, but Bayern Munich are said to be of interest to Mane if he was to leave Anfield in the summer transfer window.
Mane caused a stir on social media with his pre-match comments in the press conference for the Senegal game as he hinted he would leave Liverpool. He said: "Isn't it between 60 to 70% of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I will do what they want. We will see soon! The future will tell us."

Bayern Munich chief makes major transfer window claim amid Sadio Mane Liverpool rumours
Bayern Munich can sign whoever they want in the summer transfer window, providing the deal is right for them, according to club president Herbert Hainer, writes Richard Garnett.
The German champions have been widely linked with a move for Liverpool forward Sadio Mane, who has so far failed to commit his future to Anfield, with one year remaining on his contract. Should the Senegalese talisman choose to move away from Merseyside after six successful seasons under Jurgen Klopp, there will be no shortage of top European clubs vying for the 30-year-old's services.
But after Bayern legend Robert Lewandowski indicated that he could leave the Bavarian club this summer, Hainer has moved to reassure fans that they are ready to do whatever it takes to bring the right personnel to the Allianz Arena before the start of next season. Speaking to German media outlet BILD he said: "If we really want a player, we are able to get him, but he has to suit us."
