NEW DELHI: A life-size statue honouring the cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is set to be unveiled on Wednesday on the eve of the World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
Earlier this year, plans were revealed to install the statue of Tendulkar, who celebrated his 50th birthday in April. The statue, depicting the iconic batter in motion while playing a stroke, has been positioned adjacent to the Sachin Tendulkar stand within the stadium. Final touches were being added to the statue in preparation for the inauguration, scheduled for Tuesday.
