Sabrina Ionescu put on an absolute clinic in the final round of the WNBA Three-Point Contest on Friday afternoon at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
The back-to-back All-Star for the New York Liberty entered the final round needing just 11 points to avoid elimination after putting together a 26-point performance in the previous round.
Ionescu shattered that mark, nearly tripling the required score with an unbelievable 37-point round in which she made 25 of her 27 shots. That score sets a single-round record for the three-point contest in either the NBA or WNBA.
I mean, watch this. She made every shot look so effortless en route to capturing the three-point crown.

That record-setting score proved to be more than enough as Ionescu managed to capture the win following a 24-point round from Seattle Storm guard Sami Whitcomb.
Following her three-point contest win, Ionescu summed things up simply.
"I wasn't sure how many I missed, but I knew it wasn't alot."

You are right about that, Sabrina.
A former first-overall pick in 2020, Ionescu has already become one of the league’s best players and is a primary reason why the Liberty have an Eastern Conference-best 14-4 record.
She’ll try to lead the franchise to its first championship this season, but for now, she’s got a very special individual accolade to enjoy.
