NEW DELHI: In a familiar pattern, Belarusian second seed Aryna Sabalenka delivered a dominant performance at the US Open on Saturday, defeating France's Clara Burel 6-1, 6-1 in the third round, bringing an end to the unseeded player's New York campaign.
Sabalenka had previously defeated Burel in the third round of the tournament a year ago, and this time around, the Australian Open winner asserted her dominance once more, hitting an impressive 22 winners in a brisk one-hour match at Louis Armstrong Stadium.
