South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas will lead a business delegation to China where he will also push for the easing of trade restrictions.
The premier told state parliament on Thursday the September trip would be the first by an SA leader since 2019.
The delegation will include representatives from the education, agriculture, tourism, trade and related sectors.
"While in China I will be advocating for the easing of trade blockages affecting South Australian exports including wine and lobster," Mr Malinauskas said.
"I welcome the progress made between Australia and China on agreeing a path forward to lift unjustified duties on Australian barley.
"I hope that the duties on wine and crayfish can also be lifted through a similar process."
The premier will visit Beijing, Shanghai and Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province.
South Australia has a 37-year sister-state relationship with Shandong.
"I look forward to meeting key senior officials in Jinan to deepen our strong relationship and explore ways to further strengthen this partnership," he said.
