Fertilizer makers Mosaic and CF Industries as well as lithium giant Albemarle were Monday's top three S&P 500 index gainers as the major averages tumbled below their 21-day moving averages. Warner Bros Discovery, auto-parts maker Aptiv and used-car dealer CarMax were the S&P 500's biggest losers.
Mosaic climbed 3.4% to 55.33 on the stock market today. MOS stock rebounded from its 21-day line to hit a two-month high intraday.
ALB stock rose 2.1% to 275.70. Albemarle stock is extended from a 250.25 handle buy point on a weekly chart. But it's in an alternate buy area starting at 273.78. Lithium stocks are among the best-performing EV plays right now.
CF stock gained 2.1% to 105.67, hitting, a three-month high. CF Industries is moving toward a 113.58 buy point, according to MarketSmith analysis.
ALB stock is on IBD Leaderboard and the IBD Big Cap 20. Albemarle, CF and MOS stock are on the IBD 50.

S&P 500 Losers
WBD stock tumbled 7.4% to 12.71, hitting a new 12-year low. HBO's "House of the Dragon," a prequel to "Game of Thrones," premiered Sunday night to a large audience and positive reviews. But parent Warner Bros Discovery still sold off.
APTV stock skidded 7.4% to 96.12, below its 50-day line, which had only recently leveled off after a long slide.
KMX stock retreated 6.7% to 89.86, gapping below its 50-day moving average. On Aug. 16, CarMax stock hit a five-month high intraday.
