December S&P 500 E-Mini futures (ESZ26) are up +0.14% this morning as sentiment improved after Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh avoided signaling his near-term policy intentions at an IMF meeting.
Mr. Warsh participated in a roughly half-hour fireside chat with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva at the IMF’s meeting in Bangkok on Friday morning. Still, he offered no guidance on near-term monetary policy. “I don’t pre-judge meetings, I don’t believe in saying now what I might do at the meetings that we have in the balance of this year… It’s a new chapter at the Fed, and we’re not in that business anymore,” Warsh said.
