S Club Juniors pay tribute to Paul Cattermole as Rochelle Humes is 'utterly heartbroken'

Rochelle Humes has paid tribute to Paul Cattermole and shared how he was such a key part of her childhood.

The This Morning star, 34, joined her former S Club Juniors bandmates in remembering the S Club 7 singer on social media after his heartbroken family announced he had died at the age of 46.

Paul was found dead in his Dorset home on Thursday - just one day on from the star being snapped looking in good spirits as he enjoyed a walk in the countryside.

Following the late star's heartbroken family sharing the sad news yesterday, fans and famous pals like Sheridan Smith have been sharing their memories of Paul and celebrating his life - including S Club 7's spin-off band.

Before finding fame with The Saturdays, Loose Women star Frankie Bridge and Rochelle - Jay Asforis, Daisy Evans, Calvin Goldspink, Stacey McClean, Aaron Renfree and Hannah Richings - first performed as part of S Club Juniors.

The line-up for the pop band filled with youngster was finalised from thousands of hopefuls on the television series S Club Search in 2001 and often joined their seniors S Club 7 on stage.

Taking to social media yesterday, one-time S Club Junior Stacey told her Instagram followers how she had returned home from a gig and heard the sad news about Paul.

Fighting back the tears, the star told her fans: "I've just got back from my gig and I don't really know what to say but I just wanted to thank everyone for their lovely messages regarding Paul.

"I didn't really know Paul on a personal level but it's really upset me because S Club as a whole has just been such a huge part of my life and you know I owe so much to S Club.

"I just wanted to send my love and strength to everybody that knew Paul, all the others, his friends, his family and god, I don't even know what to say.

"I'm not ignoring people I'm just a little bit taken aback. But thank you."

Rochelle also paid her respects on Instagram - sharing a London Underground tribute dedicated to Paul and adding: Utterly heartbreaking news."

The former popstar then shared a snap of her youngster and the rest of S Club Juniors posing alongside Paul and his S Club 7 bandmates.

Aaron, who was part of the band later rebranded as S Club 8, shared the same image to his own Instagram followers and wrote: "'I just can't believe it... Paul you will be deeply missed by your S Club family, friends and fans.

"You were a big part of my childhood - thanks for some special memories. Shine bright up there!"

Jay, now known as Jay Perry, simply shared a black-and-white snap of Paul and wrote: "RIP OG."

Following Paul's unexpected death, S Club 7 paid tribute to their bandmate and said there "are no words" to describe their loss.

The statement from the band read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."

Paul's death is not being treated as suspicious.
