Arizona Cardinals safety Charles Washington has yet to play in a game this season, having missed the first nine games of the season on injured reserve. He is nearing a return, and it is the perfect time to happen.
The Cardinals designated him to return from injured reserve, allowing him to begin to practice with the team. The team has 21 days to reinstate him to the active roster or he reverts to IR for the rest of the season.
Washington suffered a chest injury in the preseason.
With fellow safety Budda Baker expected to be sidelined for the next few games with a high ankle sprain, Washington’s return would be timely.
