Rylan Clark shuts down engagement rumours as he flashes ring on Venice getaway

Rylan Clark has shut down engagement rumours after he flashed a sparkling ring on his wedding finger while on holiday.

The former It Takes Two presenter, 34, took to his Instagram stories on Monday to announce that he has touched down in Italy for a very exciting project.

The X Factor legend had been enjoying some time in Greece, but then landed in Venice as he shared some snippets of the stunning Italian location with his 1.6 million followers.

However, unknowingly, Rylan quickly sent his eagle-eyed fans into a frenzy after flashing a dazzling ring in one particular snap.

While strolling around the streets of Venice, Rylan posted a picture by the water, which saw him rest his hand on his leg while he looked out at the wonders in front of him - but his followers were more concerned about the bling on his finger than the sights surrounding him.

It's clear that Rylan must have been bombarded with DM's and questions about his love life, as just a short while after posting the photo of his sparkling ring, he returned to his stories to set the record straight.

Putting a stop to the rumour mill, Rylan wrote: "That’s my right hand, FYI."

The TV personality hasn’t publicly dated anyone since splitting from his husband Dan Neal in 2021.

Recently, Rylan admitted that the divorce between himself and Dan after six years of marriage, 'nearly killed him'.

"It was really difficult, looking back on it now, it’s awful to sit there and say this but I am almost glad it nearly killed me. And I am so thrilled I can say that two years on, because I didn’t think I could say that two years on," he shared.

"And I won’t go into too much detail but it was extremely traumatic and I’m not just being dramatic, it was very much trauma," he added while speaking to host Elizabeth Day on her How to Fail Podcast.

The former X Factor star recently announced he is having a hiatus from his BBC Radio 2 show and has also been tipped to take over the role vacated by Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

Announcing his break from radio, he said: "This is where I should say ladies I won't be catching up with you next week.

"Because I am off to do some other bits and bobs so I'm not going to be here for a fair few weeks."

He has become one of the bookies' favourites to replace veteran broadcaster Phillip Schofield after he stepped away as host of the popular ITV daytime show last month.
