Rylan Clark shares hilarious career dig at his mum amid joint ITV This Morning appearance

Rylan Clark is set to make a return to This Morning on Friday (June 10). Fans of the ITV daytime show may remember the BBC Radio 2 presenter being a regular host on the show as well as regularly working alongside Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

However, he'll be returning to the famous sofa today (Friday) as a guest ahead of his return to Celebrity Gogglebox which begins on Channel 4 tonight. And he's bringing along a very special guest.

In a joint interview, Rylan will be joined by his mum, Linda, with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield revealing at the end of Thursday's show they'll appear together ahead of their appearance on the Gogglebox spin-off.

And taking to Twitter ahead of This Morning, Rylan couldn't help but make a dig at his mum and joke about his career. He told his 1,7m followers: "I’m taking my mum on @thismorning today," before adding: "It was nice knowing you all."

But his fans, who have come to know and love Linda over the years, were quick to share their excitement. @sukilegg tweeted: "Oh I’m soooooo watching this morning." @ccielucas replied: "Definitely recording this. Linda is a Legend!" @louelli said: "Now this I have GOT to watch your mum is ace."

@Pauline1969W wrote: "Love this! The legend that is Linda, have fun." @Charl0ttesayshi predicted: "She’ll have her own segment on the show by September you watch xxx"

Rylan and Linda on Gogglebox (Channel 4)

Rylan confirmed his and his mum's return to Celebrity Gogglebox filming earlier this month. The 33-year-old quickly became a favourite on the spin-off of the hit Channel 4 show - as did Linda. The mother and son pair were forced to miss out on the last series as Linda was ill.

Luckily for fans, the pair will return to the show when it hits screens for a brand new series on June 10. Tweeting a photo of the pair in Rylan's home with the confirmed air date, the TV and radio star said: "We’re back x." He also shared the same post with his 1.5m Instagram followers.

Rylan had never ruled out returning to the show. He told the Mirror back in 2020: "It'll be a year away now, we were really lucky to be part of the first one and the second one. It'll all just depend on what we're doing and if my mum's well enough. We're never gonna say never we don't know what position we're going to be in eventually."
